Greek teachers of primary and secondary education had the chance to develop their pedagogical digital competencies through three trainings that were organized in the framework of the D-PAIDEIA project.
During a weekend at the middle of December, Athens became a vibrant hub for educational innovation as teachers from Thebes, Chalkida, and Athens gathered at Impact Hub for the D-PAIDEIA training seminar. Held in a festive and collaborative atmosphere, the training marked a major milestone for the D-PAIDEIA initiative. Throughout the sessions, educators delved into European and national education policies while exploring digital self-assessment tools to reflect on their digital competencies. Hot topics such as internet safety, digital dependency, and associated risks were at the heart of the discussions, aiming to equip teachers with the knowledge and tools to create safer and more mindful digital learning environments. One of the highlights of the Athens training was the creative integration of digital tools to enhance classroom engagement. Trainers emphasized how imagination and technology can go hand-in-hand, helping educators craft more dynamic and student-centered lessons.

At the end of January, in Larissa, the Primary Education Directorate of the region, in cooperation with Action Synergy and the University of Thessaly’s Digital Systems Department, hosted a 2-day training seminar tailored to primary school teachers. The focus here was on empowering schools to create their own digital action plans, while boosting teachers’ digital pedagogical capacities.
Participants explored critical topics such as:
- Effective integration of educational technologies
- Promoting positive attitudes towards digital transformation and cybersecurity
- Managing classroom relationships via ICT
- Implementing adaptive digital learning strategies
- Navigating digital identity and reputation

Building on the momentum of the in-person events, the national online training has already launched with over 100 teachers participating from across Greece—further shaping the future of digital education in the country.

At the end of January and the beginning of February there were also organized the online training seminars where around 100 teachers from primary and secondary education from all over the country attended a 4-session online seminar focusing on the pedagogic use of digital technologies in the classroom.
These trainings mark a significant step toward equipping Greek educators with the skills and confidence to lead the digital transformation in education—making learning more inclusive, innovative, and future-ready.
