FRAMEWORK FOR PEDAGOGICAL DIGITAL COMPETENCES
Development of a Qualifications Framework for
Pedagogical Digital Competencies
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, DigCompEdu was considered one of the most comprehensive frameworks for teachers’ digital competence in education. However, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the limitations of the framework, particularly the absence of descriptors that address the social and emotional challenges of digital teaching and learning that emerged during lockdowns. As a result, there is a need to update DigCompEdu to ensure that it adequately covers this aspect and to train teachers for future challenges.
The proposal of D-PAIDEIA for the changes that are required in the Qualifications Framework has been published.
Our proposal is to integrate three new elements in the professional engagement dimension, to add a new section in the area of teachers’ pedagogical competences and finally to align learners’ competences with the latest version of the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp 2.2 ).
